Benniworth Parish Council

 

Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 23rd November 2022 at 7pm, at Moor Farm, Benniworth by kind permission of Mrs S Olivant.

 

Open Public Forum: this included a presentation by Northern Power of details of the forthcoming  project to upgrade power supplies to properties in the village.

 

Present: Cllr. G Stewart (Chair), Cllrs S Olivant, Cllr.D Gilmour, Cllr.P Dyas  Cllr. C Rayner.

  1. Minutes of previous meeting

Minutes of the meeting held on 7 September 2022 were reviewed, accepted as accurate and signed off by the Chairman, proposed by Cllr Dyas and seconded by Cllr Rayner.

 

  1. Responses to matters arising from previous meeting minutes

Land Registration: this matter is on-going.

Village Speeding: Clerk to send letter to P Willoughby advising that this is on-going with difficulties getting responses from the relevant authorities. (Cllr Dyas subsequently met P Willoughby and updated him on the situation.)

Salt Spreader: Cllr Dyas to draft a letter to Mr K Olivant regarding the proposed sale of the machine.

Tennyson Plaque: site to be decided with AONB. 3 quotes to be obtained prior to purchase.

Unauthorised access to menage on Main Road: this is on-going.

 

  1. Confirmation that all councillors have completed the relevant forms required of them by ELDC.

Blank pecuniary interest forms were issued to all Councillors for completion, to be returned to the Parish Clerk. Once completed these will be mailed to ELDC for updating the ELDC website.

 

  1. Christmas event

Christmas Songs event: this will take place on Tuesday 20th December at 7pm in the church grounds; Banovallum Brass band will be in attendance. Refreshments will be provided; a Christmas tree to be organised by the PC. Funds are required for the refreshments, tree and tree lights. Cllr Rayner offered to supply mince pies. Sausages to be confirmed. A total budget of £250 was agreed.

 

  1. Any Other Business
  • Village Precept 2023: this was briefly discussed as the information is required by the end of January. It was agreed that it should remain at £1,500, and also that a budget for 2023 be prepared by the Clerk by end of January.  

 

  1. Date of next meeting: Wednesday 8th February 2023 at 7pm.
