Benniworth Parish Council

Minutes of the meeting on Wednesday 22nd November 2023

 

  1. Present: Councillors:  Gill Stewart Chairperson, Chris Raynor, Phil Dyas,Sue Olivant & Rosie Chetwynd-Talbot. One member of the Public.

 

  1. Apologies for absence – Susan McAllister

 

  1. Member co-opted on to the Parish Council: Ann South

- Proposed by Chris Raynor, seconded by Rosie Chetwynd-Talbot.

 

  1. Minutes of the previous meeting were signed as a correct record, proposed by Sue Olivant, seconded by Phil Dyas.

 

  1. Matters arising from the minutes:
  • Loo:  PD research filed and to be re-visited.

 

  1. Autumn Gathering:  Thanks to Rosie and her team for all their hard work, for a successful, sunny and sociable afternoon, raising £500, to be divided between St. Julian’s Church and the Horncastle Food Bank.

 

  1. Winter maintenance:

      –  salt bins, 2 need replenishing – PD organised this with the Council.

– electrical work

  • Bus shelter roof, ridge tiles to be replaced, SO to get quote.

 

  1. Precept:  it was agreed £2000.00

 

  1. Defibrilator:  getting to the end of it’s life, OK for the short/medium term, batteries recently replaced. Review again in 2024.  Check for grants then.

 

  1.  Churchyard maintenance: Charlie & Chris Raynor and Jonny Moon have kindly spent many hours maintaining the Churchyard, the best it has looked in many years.  Unfortunately they are unable to continue cutting the grass.  Ann South to raise this on social media – if anyone is interested.  Or would like to tender.

 

  1. Clerk to the Council/General admin: RC-T to advertise this on social media – if anyone is interested attending meetings/minutes/and general correspondence/maintaining paper and digital filing systems, remuneration by arrangement.

 

  1. Overhanging shrubs/small branches at Spring Bottom:  SO to contact K Wallis as the trees are thought to be adjacent to their land.

 

  1. Next meeting 21st February 2024, 7pm, Moor Farm.
