5. Meadow Lane, Church Lane & Click’em Hill drainage
The drainage and surfacing problems in Meadow Lane and Church Lane have been ongoing without progress. The clerk reported that LCC highways have been contacted on a number of occasions but that working restrictions due to the pandemic have severely limited LCC activities. It was agreed that District Cllr. Mrs Patricia Bradwell should be re-contacted in an effort to move matters forward. The clerk is to contact Cllr. Bradwell in this regard - Action - Clerk
6. Meadow View Signage
The road signage problems in Meadow View / Meadow Lane remain unresolved at present. The clerk was tasked with discussing this matter with LCC Highways to clarify any regulations relating to the location and mounting of the signs prior to any work being carried out. The budget to cover the costs of the signs was approved at a previous meeting. Action - Clerk
7. Village Skip
It was discussed and agreed that the Parish Council would again provide the annual rubbish skip for the benefit of all village residents. The siting of the skip was discussed and it was agreed that a position on Panton Road close to the village pond was best suited for the purpose. A date will be agreed and posted on the website and notice boards.
8. 30 mph village speed limit
This matter was raised by a resident at a previous public meeting as an increasing problem. The council recognise that speeding through the village is an issue and discussed the possibility of trying to have a 30mph limit applied to village roads, however it questioned what effect this may have when compared to the cost and disruption caused by the necessary signage. It was finally unanimously agreed that no further action be taken at this time.
9. Maintenance of trees on Village Green
The maintenance of trees on the village green was discussed as this was a further matter raised by a resident at a previous public meeting. It was agreed that the Chairman would contact a local resident to discuss their reporting any issue to the parish clerk, who will then take the matter up with ELDC. Action Cllr Stewart
10. Post Pandemic Village Social Event
The suggestion that the council support and arrange the above event was discussed and agreed. It was decided that the best date would be the August Bank Holiday and the location the village green. Cllr. Simpson and Cllr. Robson were appointed to make the necessary preparations and to try to establish possible numbers likely to attend prior to making final arrangements. Action Cllrs Simpson and Robson
11. Matters Arising
The problem of residents placing objects on the road verges in the front of their properties was raised. Whilst the Council recognises the reason for this and that the damage caused by vehicles moving onto the verge to allow oncoming vehicles to pass can be annoying, the verges remain the property of LCC Highways and should not be obstructed. It was agreed that a reminder of this fact be placed in the forthcoming village newsletter and on the website
